Kyle Bigourdin is a senior project engineer with specialty in managing and administrating the building systems commissioning process. As a LEED Accredited Professional with Building Design + Construction specialization, Kyle has an in-depth knowledge of the LEED process commissioning requirements.
Commissioning project experience includes Healthcare, Institutional, Commercial, Residential, and Educational buildings. The scope of services on these projects typically includes design reviews and commissioning specifications generation during project design stage, management and implementation of construction phase commissioning activities, testing and balancing, O&M manuals reviews and coordination of the training for the building operators and users group.
Kyle has acted as Commissioning Authority for Vancouver Coastal Health’s major expansion of St Mary’s Hospital in Sechelt, BC, Sea to Sky Hospital in Squamish, BC as well as a number of smaller mental health facilities in the Sea-to-Sky region; and has overseen the commissioning of various specialized HVAC, electrical, life-safety, and healthcare systems to the latest CSA standards.
Kyle has provided Fundamental and Enhanced Commissioning services on more than 20 LEED projects throughout the province. Examples include the Centre of Excellence in Clean Energy Technology in Dawson Creek, BC (LEED Platinum targeted), numerous LEED Gold mixed-use facilities throughout the lower mainland, and the new Guildford Aquatic Centre in Surrey, BC which is currently under construction.
In addition to his various LEED commissioning projects, Kyle has acted as laboratory certification consultant on two Containment Level 3 (CL3) research laboratory projects, managing the testing and commissioning of specialized laboratory electro-mechanical systems and preparing certification report documentation for submission to Public Health Agency of Canada.
